Comparisons

So...I like to compare pics of the kids with pics of Chris & I when we were their age. Also comparing Meritt & Axton to each other at certain ages is neat to see. :)

Here's several that I've made using lots of different pics...because some pics of the kids are better at comparing their features to ours. Let me just say....I think they both look a lot more like Chris than me. :( No...just kidding....I don't care who they look like...Chris must have stronger genes than I do. :)

3 months old!

This sweet boy is getting much more interactive! He is cooing quite a bit....smiling....staying awake for longer periods of time....and SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! Yes...it is awesome. After moving him from our bedroom to his crib at 10 weeks & going from breastmilk to formula at the same time....Axton has been doing really well. At first he was sleeping from about 10:30-11pm til 2:30 & then back to sleep after bottle til about 7:30-8. Then pretty quick started going until about 4am....and within a week was going 10-5. By his 3 mo birthday, we had switched formulas, gotten more into a nightime routine & I started just giving him his pacifier when he woke up in the middle of the night instead of feeding him. Pretty much from the time he came home he has been a terrible spitter-upper. It was bad on breast milk & even when going to formula. We knew he had reflux as soon as we brought him home & he's been on Zantac, which helps but isn't meant to help spit-up. So he was spitting up constantly...every feeding, every time he burped & even hours after eating. It was quite a bit sometimes & projectile most of the time, too.

Finally after a couple weeks on formula & him spitting up 6 times in one feeding, I decided to call Dr Yap. He called in another medicine that might help, but before I got it I wanted to get some advice from other moms. I'm apart of a Mom's group on Facebook that is so good to go ask questions, give advice & just to share info with other moms. Out of probably 15 mothers that responded, at least 10-12 said that the formula Enfamil AR (Acid Reflux) made a huge difference. SO...we tried it & it's definitely much thicker since it has rice starch to make it heavier on baby's stomachs....and it is amazing how much better he is. He still spits up occasionally, but NOTHING like he was. He was taking 4 oz for several weeks & recently went up to 5 oz...and now still getting 5 oz during the day, but 6 oz at bedtime to get him to sleep longer & first thing in the morning when he's really hungry. :) Since his 2 month appt we're thinking he's probably at least 10 lbs now & around 22 in.

We still haven't taken him out in public....we're waiting until the end of RSV season (end of March). I'm SO ready to be able to go somewhere as a whole family! Besides that....Life is good right now!

Can't believe this big boy is already 3 months old! Time is flying, but I'm so glad to get to be with him during this time & we love watching him grow & learn.
